Each Spring and Fall our Running Club organizes a fitness program which turns walkers into runners and helps returning runners get back on their feet and back into running shape.

With the Walkers to Runners fitness program the transition happens over 8 weeks where we take walkers and returning runners and bring them slowly up to 3 miles for those new to running and farther for returning runners. The classes are group based to help you get the most out of the training program and the Coaches keep the classes fun and imaginative while giving lots of support and encouragement. At the end of the program we will attend one of the area 5K races so you can try out your new level of fitness.

"Maybe you have wanted or tried to be a runner but have always been stopped for whatever reason right before you started making progress! Maybe you can only jog for a minute. Or maybe not at all but if you have the desire to be a runner and ready to make that dream a reality, then this program is for you!"

The program starts with Orientation and a workout on April 9th, and classes will be held each week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM. In addition, we will also give you homework (a workout) to do each Saturday during the program.

So anyone who can already walk 2+ miles and walk three or more times a week can come out to join this program. If you are a returning runner who has been cross training with Walking, Pool Running, Elliptical trainer or any other aerobic exercise for 30 minutes or longer three or more times a week then you should join too.

Registration, Check-In and First week of training will be on:
Tuesday: April 9th at S.J. Stovall Park.
Thursday: April 11th at Bowmen Springs Park,
