Our Coaching Staff

We're extremely proud of our professional, experienced coaching staff - they always go the extra mile to make sure you have a fun, successful training season! Why is it so important to have qualified coaches? They can:

Arlington Striders/Fastpaws Coach Troy Surritt has over 19 years of running experience. Coach Troy is a RRCA Certifed Coach with over 15 years of Coaching experience.

Coach Troy understands your goals because he has been there. Back in 1992 he was an overweight couch potatoe, who at 217 lbs couldn't touch his toes much less see them. With his health in jeopardy and being at a crossroad in life he took the step with the help of some friends to start on a path to a better life. One year later and with a lot of determination he had lost over 75 lbs, ran his first marathon and qualified for the Boston Marathon. So if your goals are to lose weight, get fit, reach a new level, do your personal best, or even qualify for the Boston or New York Marathons he understands and can help you reach your goals and dreams.

Coach Troy's highlights are 6 Boston Marathons, New York Marathon, Denver Colfax Marathon, and his first Ultra the "Fat Ass" 50K he ran in Dallas, Tx. Also some honorable mentions are both the Houston Marathon and the White Rock Marathon!

Troy has personal bests of 2:54:24 in the marathon and a 1:19:32 in the half marathon, plus a 36:03 10K and a 16:54 5K, so he not only knows what it's like to run fast, but what it takes to run fast. Register for the Speed and Core Training Program to get fit and ahead of your competition this summer!
