Group Runs & Club Socials!

The Arlington Striders Running Club is a community of runners and walkers dedicated to better fitness. We are your home away from home where you can come to run or walk at any pace or speed you like, socialize, and learn more about fitness. Our social events, group training runs & walks, speed and strength workouts are a chance for you to reach your goals, become more fit and do so while having fun with other runners, walkers and fitness fans. Below on this page is our list of social events and weekly group training runs and walks that we do in the heart of DFW Texas. (Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, Dallas)

All of our group runs & walks are free and open to the public. All ages, abilities and paces are welcome. So come on out to any of the workouts for some fun training and to see what it's all about!

We are currently training for all kinds of race events, like 5K, 10K, fun runs, mud runs, half & full marathons, and other events. So as the seasons change so does when and where we meet for group training runs & walks, and social events. So check back for updates!

We do easy group runs and long runs on the Trinity Trails, in and around the Trinity Park and the Botanical Gardens. All Walkers and Runners invited. All distances and paces welcomed.

After the run/walk we get together at Starbucks for a sit down cooldown.

Park near the track in the school's South/West parking lot off of Pleasant Ridge Rd. Other lots are further away and/or closed after dark.

We have two goal workout groups.
  • Group A: Easy Run then Strength/Core Training.
  • Group B: Warmup then Speed/Stamina Training.
Together we start with an Easy Run/Warmup between 1 to 6 miles and afterward we do stretching, drills and strides, then one group goes with Coach Caroyln to do Body Strength Training while the rest go with Coach Troy or Coach Ed to do an Interval/Repeat or Fartlek workout. Afterward everyone does a short cooldown jog.

Remember to bring your towel or mat for the stretching, and your water or sports drinks for the workout!

We do easy pace group runs and walks on, in and around the park, trails and roads, with people running and walking distances from 1 to 10+ miles.

We have free bananas and bottled water for after the fun! There is a covered sitting area with tables and bathrooms. We'll sit, eat, drink, chat and have some social time after the run/walk.

We do group runs and walks on the roads and around the park at Lake Arlington. We do distances from 2 to 10 miles.

There are free bananas and bottled water waitting for you after the run/walk! Plus bring your folding chairs to sit, eat, drink, chat and have some social time afterwards.

Club group runs start 5+ minutes after the scheduled times posted on this page.

We update training, events, workout and group runs no later than an hour before the event or run if we will have to cancel or by the afternoon of the event or run if there will be a location or time change. So check back for updates!
