Walker to Runner Training Program

ShoesSome folks have asked for help in making the transition from walking to runningand some are looking to return to running after a long time off. So I am going to put on my "Walker to Runner" program. It's a 6 to 8 week program where I take walkers, returning runners and bring them slowly up to the 5K or 3 mile distance. It is best to workout with others because it helps everyone get the most out of a training program. The program is free for members of the Arlington Striders Running Club and it is free to join the club. The program starts on Tuesday January 31 and will be on Tuesday and Thursday of each week, plus each person will need to do one workout each week on Saturday. So anyone who can already walk 3+ miles and walks three or more times a week can come out to join this program. Signup is this Thursday (with a preview workout) and Tuesday January 31. Checkout the Arlington Striders website for meeting times and places. You will need to do your best to show up for workouts both Tuesday and Thursday each week so you don't fall behind.
