Usually a quiet part of town which draws very little attention, Arlington's Interlochen neighborhood draws a huge crowd every year in December. It is estimated, by news stories, that nearly 40,000 people drive through this unique residential area in order to view Christmas lights. The houses were decked to the halls with so many bright lights and displays that they lit up the night.
This year was no difference. The Interlochen Lights has become an annual event for The Arlington Striders Running Club. As cars were lined up for a mile waiting to enter the area, The Striders were passing cars and enjoying the view as they ran.
The Striders and the holiday decorations made this one of the year's most festive fun group runs! The course was around 5 miles long. Some club members ran longer as they added mileage by going down side streets. There were plenty opportunities for rest breaks for those who needed it. Topping off a great fun run was free eggnog and Carolyn's famous hot chocolate.
